Questions? We're Here To Help

What is the difference between a cruise and a charter?

A cruise is open to everyone, all of the public is welcome. You cruise leisurely into the heart of the valley for 2 or 3 hours and can select beverages or food items from our on board menu.

A charter is private event, not open to the public. A private charter rents the whole boat for a specific number of hours for your event. There is no minimum number of people required to book an event. We have a limit of 20 guests for sit-down dinner event and 32 for a cocktail & appetizer cruise. Check our menu page for ideas.

How do I get to Paddlewheel Park?

Take Highway 97 South to 25th Avenue (Okanagan Landing Road) and turn West. Paddlewheel Park is about 7 km from this turning point. If you see the Yacht Club - you have gone too far! Paddlewheel Park is adjacent to the Yacht Club but you cannot access it from there. Watch for our sign at the entrance to  Paddlewheel Park. Get detailed directions and a map of our location here.

Where do I park my vehicle when I get there?

When you turn into Paddlewheel Park, drive past the tennis courts and turn right toward the water. The Cruise Okangan launch is approximately 150 meters ahead. You will be able to park anywhere along the fence to your left.

Many of our guests park in the 1st parking lot they come to, and while you can - it is a bit of a walk to the boat.

* Note: The East side of the tennis courts (where private boats launch beside Paddlewheel Park) is a tow away zone.

How do I reserve seats to ensure our group can all get on the same cruise?

To reserve space for parties of 5 or more, call us in advance to reserve your seats. You can reach us at (250) 545-8388 or email us at info@cruiseokanagan.com. You can also use the email form on our Book A Cruise page, and include:

  • The number of people you'd like to reserve a space for; and,
  • What date you'd like to cruise with us.

We require a cash e-transfer from your bank or a personal cheque for the full amount to secure your reservation. Remember, reserving a seat on the boat is just like reserving one on a plane, we only have so many to offer.

There is just the two of us, what if we don't want to reserve a seat for an afternoon cruise?

For parties less than 5, seating is available on a "first come first served" basis. To avoid disappointment, please call in advance (250-545-8388) to ensure we have space on the day you wish to cruise. You and your guests may be able to walk on and get a seat, but we are often full during our afternoon cruises, so give us a call to ensure you don't waste a trip.

All of our weekend dinner cruises are by reservation only. No walk-ons will be accepted. Please check out our Book A Cruise page or call us to reserve your evening dinner cruise.

Can I bring my own food and drinks on the boat?

Sorry, no. Cruise Okanagan is a fully licensed business. You can make a selection from our onboard menu and enjoy a cool cocktail, mixed drink, local craft beers, fin local wine, and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea,  water and soda.

What can I expect on an afternoon cruise?

An extraordinary escape from the ordinary and the ultimate sight-seeing experience in the Okanagan!  Once aboard, feel free to sit on the upper deck in the open air or under the bimini.

Once comfortably seated, our server will take your order. Then it's just sit-back-and-relax while we cruise into the heart of the valley, across Adventure Bay and past sites such as Sparkling Hills Resort,  Cameron Point, The Outback, Ellison Provincial Park, Carrs Landing or up the North arm of the Okanagan toward O'Keefe Ranch. Our afternoon cruises last two hours, and who knows - you might even spot Ogopogo!

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes! We have gift certificates for our weekend dinner cruises. They are  $75.00 per person. We provide a personalized gift certificate for you to present, and instructions of how to redeem your gift.

We also have gift certificates for our afternoon cruises at  $30.00.

Our gift certificates make wonderful gift for a special anniversary, birthday or Christmas. Remember children under 6 are free.

Please email or call us for more information.

Can we have live music during a charter cruise? Can we dance?

We can make anything happen for your special event! Live band, string quartet, themed decorations, special menu. All we ask is that you arrange all these special requests in advance with Captain Dick and Chef Carole

We are so please to help you make our special event a night to remember. If you can imagine it, we can help make it happen.

Can I bring my children?

Absolutely. Children are always welcome. Of course, we ask that you keep a close eye on them. The boat can be a dangerous place for unsupervised children.

Children under 6 cruise for free!

Is the vessel safe and certified?

The Spirit of the Okanagan is a Coast Guard Certified boat.  That means that every year we are inspected to ensure that all safety equipment, licenses etc., are current, properly checked and in good working order.  Our captain and crew are trained in CPR, Man Overboard, and other life saving skills. Our captain holds all of the necessary tickets and has the experience to pilot the boat safely.  In the event of an emergency, the boat is equipped with a life raft and more than enough life jackets for the maximum number of guests aboard.

Is there a washroom on board?

Yes! Spirit of the Okanagan is equipped with running water and a floor peddle flush toilette for your convenience.
